Employers
Did you know that there are 170,000 young people currently not in education, employment or training in England? All of these young people are potential employees.
They all have skills, aspirations and talent. All they need is a chance to show what they can achieve. E2E can play a major part in matching up your needs with this pool of untapped talent.
What is E2E
E2E aims to help young people who are not yet ready to enter an Apprenticeship, Further Education or employment, to develop confidence, basic, key, personal and social skills to prepare them for the challenges and opportunities of life and employment. Young people will have the opportunity to experience work placements, develop vocational and employability skills and understand more about the employment opportunities open to them.
Why do we need employers?
Employers are important to the success of E2E because you provide the opportunities for young people to develop skills at work. If E2E aims to help young people develop the skills they need to enter the workplace and to realise their true potential, then your help is critical. We need as many organisations as possible, from large to small, national to multi-national and from craft to hi-tech to get involved.
Who else is involved?
E2E is funded by the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and is delivered through learning providers, Connexions and other specialist agencies working together to help young people move forward.
Why should I get involved?
Hands on experience of the workplace is important for young people. It helps them to decide their future career path and widens their skills and knowledge. But there are also many benefits for you. Providing an opportunity for a young person on an E2E programme could help to answer skills shortages aas well as see how potential employees suit your organisation. It could also help you become a part of the community giving your company a chance to make a real difference in the lives of young people who live there.
How does E2E work?
1. E2E work placements can be negotiated to suit the demands of your organisation and the needs of young people.
2. The duration of the work placement is normall between 4 - 8 weeks.
3. E2E learning providers will be on hand to provide support and guidance to the young person and yourself and they will complete all documentation .
